WB Anganwadi Recruitment 2026: District-Wise Official Notice Guide

WB Anganwadi Recruitment 2026: District Wise Apply Online

Status checked: July 27, 2026

BengalEduHub has not verified one statewide 2026 application window for Anganwadi Worker (AWW) and Anganwadi Helper (AWH) across all West Bengal districts. These notices can be issued for a specific district, ICDS project, block, gram panchayat or municipal area. The previous unverified “Active Now” labels for Bankura and Hooghly have been removed.

This is a district-wise verification guide, not an application notice. Check the West Bengal Women & Child Development recruitment notice page, the Directorate of ICDS, and your district administration’s official recruitment section before applying.

Why Anganwadi recruitment must be checked district by district

An official notice can be limited to one ICDS project or local area. A vacancy in one block does not make the form open throughout the district, and a district notice does not automatically apply elsewhere in West Bengal. Residence rules, post type, vacancy count, submission mode and closing date must all match the same notice.

Old district pages often remain online after their application window closes. Always read the start and end dates in the notice page and PDF. A website’s “last updated” footer date is not the application deadline.

How to find the correct district notice

  1. Open the WCDSW/ICDS official website and check recruitment or notice sections.
  2. Open your district’s government website, normally on a district-name.gov.in domain.
  3. Choose Notices or Recruitment and search for “Anganwadi”, “AWW”, “AWH” or the ICDS project name.
  4. Open the complete notice and attachments. Match the memo number, project, block/ward, start date and end date.
  5. Look for corrigenda, rejected/eligible lists, exam/interview notices and results under the same reference.

Examples of official but older district notices

These examples show why publication dates matter; they are not current application links:

A search engine may surface these pages in 2026 because the district site is still active. The dates and PDF content—not the search date—decide whether applications are open.

Eligibility: Worker and Helper terms are notice-specific

The previous version of this article stated fixed Class 12/Class 10 qualifications and an 18–35 age range as one statewide 2026 rule. Those claims have been removed. A competent notice may distinguish direct Anganwadi Worker, direct Anganwadi Helper and promotion from Helper to Worker, with different eligibility and residence conditions.

Copy every requirement from the exact notice into a checklist: post type, local residence area, gender if specified, education, age cutoff, category, experience or promotional status, and required proof. Do not combine one district’s qualification with another district’s vacancy.

How to verify a genuine Anganwadi notice

  • Government department/district domain and identifiable issuing office;
  • memo number, date, ICDS project and local jurisdiction;
  • post-wise and area-wise vacancy details, where announced;
  • clear eligibility and cutoff date;
  • prescribed form, application method, opening and closing time;
  • official signature/designation and contact route;
  • corrigendum or cancellation history, if any.

Fraud warning: Do not pay an agent for a guaranteed Anganwadi post, exam score or panel position. Never enter an OTP or banking PIN on a third-party “apply” page. Any fee and payment method must be written in the verified official notice.

Safe application steps

  1. Download the notice, annexures and correct Worker/Helper form.
  2. Confirm that your residence falls within the specified area.
  3. Use the exact online/offline submission method and deadline in that notice.
  4. Attach only requested documents and follow self-attestation rules.
  5. Keep the submitted form and acknowledgement/receipt where available.
  6. Track scrutiny, eligible/rejected lists and later updates on the same official source.

Common questions

Are WB Anganwadi applications open in every district in 2026?

We have not confirmed one statewide window. Check your district and ICDS project individually.

Are Bankura and Hooghly “Active Now”?

This page no longer makes that claim without a dated official notice and working application source.

Is the application always online?

No statewide assumption should be made. Follow the method in the current district/project notice.

Can I apply to a neighbouring district or project?

Only if the official notice permits it and you meet its residence/jurisdiction conditions.
